IC Information
Name: Aomine Daiki
Canon: Kuroko no Basuke
Gender: Male
Age: 18 - Taking him two years post-current canon.
History: Here Post-canon/in game canon, he'll have kept playing basketball for Touou. In the final game, he gets a serious concussion, but keeps playing a rough team and ends up getting Second Impact Syndrome - which is a second concussion before the first heals, and can be caused by rough play, especially if a player isn't taken off the court after the first concussion. There are enough people around that he will have made it to the hospital, but suffered severe brain damage and fell into a coma on the court, so he would have stayed in the hospital until someone eventually pulled the plug. I neglected to go into the latter part in the sample, because it would involve going into the actions and emotional states of characters other than Aomine himself, because of his comatose state, but as it is an important aspect, I've detailed it here.
Personality: Before developing into an over-talented asshole, Aomine was very similar to Kagami - outgoing, friendly, and possessing the kind of passion for basketball that let his skills grow by leaps and bounds. He made friends through the sport, often with players who were far below him in terms of skill level like Kuroko and Kise (who at the time was completely new to the sport), encouraging them to keep playing and keep practicing. Eventually, his skill and talent reached the point where no one posed a challenge to him, and opposing teams' will to play against him were crushed. This was devastating for Aomine, who always loved the challenge to beat a tough opponent, so he started to look for an equal on the court, only to continue to decimate everyone who he went up against. This is when he came to the conclusion that he was simply the strongest player there is, coming to the belief of "The only one who can beat me is me," deciding that if he can't have fun playing against a challenging opponent, then he'll challenge himself to see how badly he can beat whoever he's matched up against. He also started getting into the habit of skipping practices and slacking off during games, showing just how bored he is with it all.

He has a very short temper, and is prone to lash out with violence when that temper is combined with someone so much as badmouths anyone he views as important, let alone threatens them. He has a soft spot for his former teammates from Teikou, even the ones he never got along with particularly well, but especially Kuroko and Kise, because they're all the closest he had to friends back when they still had fun playing, and because they're all the closest chance he has at a challenge.

He's flippant and dismissive of anyone who shows that they think they can take him on, like Kagami, until proven otherwise. When Kagami does step up to the metaphorical plate, Aomine finally starts having fun playing again. He's still sardonic and jaded, but pieces of his old self start to shine through, because he starts to have fun with it again.

His laziness extends off the court, too, and to anything he views as pointless or boring. School is the biggest example, and he often skips class to nap, and as a result isn't very intelligent at all when it comes to academics. He is very up on pop culture, though not in ways one might expect from a high school basketball player, specifically following idol groups and models.

Powers/Abilities: He's just a normal high schooler, even if he is abnormally good at basketball.
Keepsakes/Mementos: -A Basketball
-Teikou and Touou memorabilia
-Idol magazines
-Mai-chan photosets
-Reminders of the other Generation of Miracles kids

Sample: The clock was running down in the fourth quarter of the last non-tournament game of the season, and of course Touou was ahead. It was boring, crushing the rough team in the gaudy yellow jerseys, so Aomine fell back on old habits, began to compete with himself instead of with his opponents. Decided he would make 75 points this game, personally, with no help from his teammates. Assists wouldn't count in his final score, and if he went in for a drive and had to pass it out, he'd lose a point. Just one. Just the free-throw he might have drawn, if he went for it and they fouled him.

He was at 72 points, now, going in for a drive. He was wide open, or so he thought, could dunk it in and be down to one, set a new goal for the next game.

The defense came out of nowhere.

There was a body hitting his chest, his fingertips brushed the rim, time slowed as the ball swished through the net, as the referee's whistle blew.

Foul. Basket's good. One free throw. He knew without it even needing to be said.

But they were falling, too, the hit stealing balance from the both of them. He hit the ground first and sprawled. Time sped back up, and Aomine couldn't get his feet under him at all, he was sure he was going to land on his back, would be able to spring back up and take the shot, repay the defending team for the moment of humiliation.

A resounding crack echoed through the stadium as the back of his head hit the hardwood first, his body crumpling down a moment after. The other player landed on top of him, and he had the wind knocked out of him in addition to seeing stars.

The coach called a time out, ran over, wanted to pull him, but clarity came rushing back in time for him to protest - loudly. There were only five minutes left. He could play. He's had worse.

The last was a lie, and he knew it, but he couldn't just pull him now, not after that.

The game continued.

His vision swam.

Aomine Daiki missed a free-throw.

Stunned silence fell over the court as the opposing team made the rebound and the game continued on.

Aomine was the last to set off down the court, the last for the reality that he missed to set in for, and by the time he made it, his head was spinning again, the lights of the stadium were too bright, kept him from looking up, kept him from rebounding properly.

He felt bile rise to the back of his throat, but he swallowed it down as they returned to their side.

The game continued on as normal for the last few minutes, and despite Aomine's delayed reactions, the other team never managed to close the gap that the rest of the team kept widening. The clock ticked down. The final play was in motion. Aomine was under the net, vying for position, ready to block, because Touou didn't have possession of the ball.

The shot was loosed. He jumped. He got a hand on the ball, but so did someone else, and his vision narrowed as they vied for it.

The buzzer rang out before it went in, and there was no victory in his steps as he walked off the court, there was nothing more than a single-minded goal of getting to the bench, now that the focus was off the game, casting into sharp focus how he didn't feel right.

He hit his knees before he hit the bench, barely getting a hand on it in a futile attempt to steady himself before he hit the floor, hearing someone yell to call an ambulance.

What were they talking about? He was fine. He just needed to rest for a minute. He must be sick or something, and it was just hitting him all at once.

He never managed to protest properly before he blacked out.

Mindset: He won't remember even hitting his head, let alone passing out or dying, so he'll think this is all very strange, but not quite strange enough to freak out about it until the reality sets in.

Which might take a while.

G̶̶l̨͡i̵͢t̷c͝͠h̕é͠s̷̷͡: It bothers him quite a lot that there's no one out there who can challenge him - and despite losing, he does still think this, with the caveat that there is only ONE exception that he gets to try hard against.

He's scared of ghosts, or people or things he perceives to be ghosts (Kuroko, often) and by extension all supernatural things would be at the very least unnerving for him.

He's overprotective of his friends (and "friends"), so any harm coming to them that he can't fix by yelling at, threatening, or straight up punching someone will cause distress.

Hospital motifs will be unsettling, but he won't quite be sure why.
